ヨーダ語概論の紹介


ヨーダ語概論。
ヨーダです。
Star Wars の。

少し英語のHearing能力のある方ならば、
ヨーダが方言みたいな英語を使われていることをご存知でしょう。

そんなヨーダの使う英語を、”Yodish”（ヨーディッシュ）、と定義して、
言語学的に分析してみた人を見つけました。

ひまですねぇ、いや、あほですねぇ、でも好きですね。

This was a paper I wrote for my Linguistics II class
言語学の授業で論文として書いた。んだって。 ”paper”のニュアンスに自信がありませんが、 この著者も勇気あるジェダイです。

"Rest, I need rest"
"Found someone you have..."
"Take you to him I will"
"Strong you are in what you have learned"
"Unexpected this is, and unfortunate"
"Through the force see things you will"
"Ready are you?"
"Feel the force flow, yes"
うーむ。うむ。
思わずヨーダのまねをして、声に出してしまいそうです。

こうやって、ヨーダのせりふを並べてみると（論文より抜き出してみると、、
統一感のある言語世界があるように感じます。
言語まで新たに構築してしまうとは。
まさにSFの真髄。

There are some exceptions to these rules, but we can apply the rules of Yodish and create an everyday language and therefore, Yodish is a legitimate language, or in the grammar of Yoda, "A legitimate language is Yodish, yes. Hmmm."
